The Wizeguy: A Level Up Look

Over the years I have cultivated a vast T-shirt collection in hues of Persian blue, lead gray and onyx. I’m a true connoisseur, meaning I basically wear these shades sans designs most of the time. While the casual observer might consider me a prime candidate for the television show ‘What Not To Wear’…I, like that of the Brundlefly that came before me, think of myself as a person that subscribes to the ‘same clothes everyday’ mantra saving me a minute (or three) out of each and every day.

I’m not sorry for what I like. My qualifications for choosing a shirt from internet sites such as Teefury.com or Riptapparel.com are that 1) it relates to my interests (I.E. something I genuinely delight in) 2) the design is awesome and 3) it falls in my specific range of dharma chroma.

The ‘swag’ I’ve gotten from either touring, attending conventions or having review items sent to me are usually of the hey advertise FREE for me variety. The over-sized shirts are usually an ample XXL or XXXL with swollen logos on them in a hodgepodge of vermilion, yellow ochre and fuchsia. Grade A satire.

It was refreshing to say the least that when I received a shirt from Insert Coin Clothing not only did it fall directly into my sensibilities it exceeded my expectations. The style of design and quality is far beyond what what I have come to expect.

Adorned with the king of piratical pugilism (Cervantes De Leon), The SoulCaliber V inspired garment, fit perfectly when I put it on. Tying fashion into video games in a relevant manner, I couldn’t help but feel that I was part of the buccaneers crew adventuring the seas in search of Pieces of Eight and dopeness. I do have a good imagination.

Not only does this uber geek chic merchant offer T’s imagined from titles like Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Sonic, Tomb Raider and other Iconic touchstones.

The one that stood out and caught my eye was the Monteriggioni hoodie from Assassins Creed Brotherhood. Available in Synchronised Black, Auditore Grey and Sanguine Red, it has an eagle peak at the top so you can feel like an Italian assassin when you leap overhead from housetop to roof deck searching for the next Templar to take down. For those STEALTH missions, the hood can be folded and put away altogether, allowing you to ‘blend’ into the crowd.

I’m barely scratching the surface of what’s available, there’s a ton of game-related gear on their site. You just have to find what works for you.

I’m not here to give you a Patrick Bateman rant on how to dress or even trying to win you over like a long winded facebook note but…

Seriously, how can you not feel awesome wearing these?

Insert Coin has blown away the cobwebs and ushered in a new state of clothing. Strong concepts, designs with lasting quality plus the video game aesthetics to boot. Level up to this look and show off your geek proudly.
