The animated GIF created from the clip shows large doors opening to reveal Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), winners of the 74th Hunger Games. Effie Trinket stands behind them, all big hair and blue eye shadow like a stereotypical roadside diner waitress.
Also, fans can visit TheHungerGamesExplorer.com to unlock new content, revealing even more publicity stills from the upcoming film. The first shows Katniss hugging her younger sister Prim (Willow Shields). It is because of her devotion to her sister that Katniss volunteers to fight in the Hunger Games, and it is also why Katniss now must go on the Victory Tour, traveling from district to district.
As the tour continues, Katniss and Peeta realize that the attitudes of the districts are changing. Where once there was passivity, now there is a surging defiance. The inhabitants of the impoverished areas have a symbol, a Girl on Fire who will light the way to a better life.
However, President Snow wants to quell the stirring rebellion. The 75th Hunger Games, known appropriately as the Quarter Quell, pits Peeta and Katniss against the winners of previous games. Once again, they must fight to the death.
Will the lovers of District 12 defy the odds and survive yet again? If you haven’t read the books, find out on November 22, when Hunger Games: Catching Fire debuts in theaters.
