Make-A-Wish Foundation Brings Batman Dream to Life

In a story that is almost too heartwarming to handle, the Make-A-Wish foundation is teaming up with the city of San Francisco to give a five-year-old leukemia patient named Miles the chance to assume the role of Batkid and team up with Batman himself.  On November 15, the city of San Francisco will be converted into Gotham City, and hundreds of volunteers will be on hand to ensure that Batman and Batkid will have their hands full as they try to protect their beloved city from evil.  According to sfgate.com, Miles’s day will begin by rescuing a woman who has been captured by The Riddler and foiling a vault robbery.  After a busy morning of crime fighting, Miles will be treated to lunch overlooking Union Square.  His break won’t last long however—hundreds of people will gather in Union Square to plead for Batman’s help in keeping The Penguin from kidnapping Lou Seal, a famous San Francisco mascot.  The whole event will conclude with a trip to city hall for a public ceremony in which the mayor will thank Miles for his help in protecting the city, and present him with the key to the city.

Keep checking out the Make-A-Wish site for ways in which you can contribute to Miles’s big day as a superhero!
