It was announced today that James Gandolfini has passed away of a heart attack.
The 51 year old actor was most well known for his work as mob boss Tony Soprano on the hit HBO series for which he won an Emmy and multiple SAG Awards, but his body of work reached much further including multiple roles on Broadway (On the Waterfront and God of Carnage), movies (Terminal Velocity, True Romance, and The Taking of Phelam 123) and even the musical Romance & Cigarettes. He also produced two documentaries for HBO that investigated both the physical and emotional effects of war on returning veterans (Alive Day: Home From Iraq and Wartorn: 1861-2010, respectively).
James is survived by his wife, son and sister.
