It has been officially confirmed that Dane DeHaan will be playing the role of Harry Osborn in the next Spider-Man film. Director Marc Webb announced this today via Twitter:
Meet Harry Osborn.

DeHaan made a big splash earlier this year in the sci-fi, found-footage flick, Chronicle, and it will be interesting to see what he can do in the new Spider-Man world that Webb is helping create. As one who really enjoyed his portrayal of the (SPOILER ALERT … FOR THE NEXT FEW SENTENCES!) eventual bad guy, Andrew Detmer, in Chronicle, I’m pretty excited to see how he will handle the complex role of the son of Green Goblin, and how this will play into what I hope brings about the death of Gwen Stacy and the rise of Norman Osborn as the Green Goblin. No word yet as to how big of a role DeHaan will play as Harry, but one can hope that it will create a lot of drama and tension between Peter, Gwen, Mary Jane and the foes of Spider-Man.
