Batman Graphic Novel Countdown 5 and Counting

The graphic novel for today is “Dark Victory” which is a sequel to “The Long Halloween” which was reviewed earlier last week. This one is also written by Jeph Loeb, with art by Tim Sale.

I think I like the story in The Long Halloween better, but the art work in Dark Victory is definitely up scale, there seem to be many more two page spreads of Batman kicking ass out of the shadows.

At one point Joker is actually going around doing mob hits, while doing this he makes his way to a giant womans house whom is in a wheelchair, he then proceeds to push her down stairs. This book is really good.

It has essentially the same premise as it’s predecessor Batman trying to track down a serial killer, this one kinda has a cooler M.O., they hang cops and leave hang man clues pinned to there dead bodies. The first murder is police chief O’Hara, whom was the chief from the television show. (It’s nice to see characters from the television show hanged.) There are some cool side story’s in this which include Dick Grayson becoming the first Robin, and M.O. killers not wanting to be forgotten. This is a good book, and I am a better robot for reading it.
