Wow, we had more voting yesterday than about half of last week combined! Glad to see it, and some great competition. . .as Wolverine squeaks by the skin of his teeth past Spiderman by. . . 2 votes. Yup. Just 2.
Meanwhile, don’t bet against the red, white and blue, even when he’s going up against Big Green. Cap got 72% of the vote to Hulk’s 28%. Wow. Cap’s been the favorite pretty much this entire time, and this is why.
Which brings us to today’s voting, with hot Asgardian on Asgardian action, brother vs brother as Thor takes on Loki. Anyone who’s seen Avengers knows how potent Loki can be– not just as a trickster and manipulator, but as an actual ass-kicker. Loki has busted this bracket for several folks, but I don’t count out Thor. The big guy and Mjolnir have easilly taken apart every other challenge that has come their way. In fact, my money is still on him to make it to the finals vs. Cap, and then it’s anybody’s bet what happens.
Then we have our last two human competitors. Stan Lee, creator and co-creator of most of the Marvel Universe. The man without whom none of this would be possible. And then Joss Whedon, the man who may have taken Stan’s original ideas and handed us fans the most close to perfect film version we have ever seen. And, we should not forget, he also gave us an amazing run on Astonishing X-Men wherein he resurrected Colossus and brought me my favorite Kitty Pride moment ever. I gotta say, as much as I love and respect Stan Lee (especially for his cameo in Mallrats) I got to give the advantage to the younger, spryer Whedon– as he delivers on the “what have you done for me lately?” category.
Get your vote on here. We’ll see you back tomorrow for the Final Four!!
