There have been some complaints that the voting has lacked some drama because the matchups have generally been so one-sided. While I somewhat disagree with that characterization (and am still shook up about the Cable upset over Hawkeye), today’s matchups are far more evenly matched: 7 seeds vs 8 seeds. I’d like to point out that technically, Bullseye and Spiderwoman are upsets over their much-higher ranked opponents. And I couldn’t be more happy for The Sentry to move on. Let’s go, Bob!! Next up– Dr. Doom!! And you’re totally going to kick his ass. But what I think is most amazing is the relatively close voting between Black Widow and Whedon. Either that means lots of love for Scarlett Johanssen or relatively weak love for Whedon. Obviously you people haven’t seen Cabin in the Woods yet.

I really have no way to predict what’s going to happen today. Some of these are just superpowered slugfests, and then there’s Moon Knight vs Ant Man. I love both of these. I love Bendis’s current Moon Knight series (bitch is crazy, y’all) and anyone who hasn’t read Robert Kirkman’s series about what would happen when… well, let’s be honest? What would be the first place you’d go if you got the ability to turn small? Yeah. Both of the other ant man versions (Scottie Lang and Hank Pym) got moidalized by their competition– will this one even be a fight?
So, I don’t know how far many of these heroes will go after this round, but let’s get to it. Go vote now!!
