‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Trailer

Over the course of seven movies so far the X-Men franchise has made a few missteps. There was a time when many of us thought that it had gone off the rails and couldn’t be redeemed. Thankfully Bryan Singer returned to helm the mutant ship and “X-Men: First Class” showed us that good mutant movies could still be made.

It’s successor, “Days of Future Past” brought with it a new time line effectively wiping away the sins and inconsistencies of its less successful predecessors. The movie also left us with an end credits look at the central villain of the next movie, Apocalypse, in ancient times constructing the pyramids. The third installment of the First Class line of X-Men films is on the horizon and we just got our first real good look at it.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” continues where “Days of Future Past” left off. The trailer shows Apocalypse in modern day attempting to bring the mutant fold back from what he sees as the wrong path, and he’s going to do it by force. It looks like we’re getting the full roster of mutants including characters from both sets of movies fighting together against the most powerful foe they’ve ever faced.

“X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters May 27, 2016.
