Do you love Bill Murray and pretty much everything he does? Then you’re likely (like me) excited about his newest, “St. Vincent,” hitting theaters on October 17.
If you’re in the Austin area, you can come out for a special screening at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar on Tuesday, Oct 14 at 7:30 pm. (And seriously, if you haven’t been to the newly renovated Drafthouse, you should come out. If you want, you could even convince me to do some after-movie karaoke at The Highball? Seriously- email me at citizenbot@bigshinyrobot.com and we can hook something up)
Want tickets? Easy. Just got to Gofobo, register, and grab two passes: http://l.gofobo.us/j20nNBOx
Not sold on “St. Vincent”? Here’s all the particulars from the studio:
In ST. VINCENT, Maggie (Melissa McCarthy), a single mother, moves into a new home in Brooklyn with her 12-year old son, Oliver (Jaeden Lieberher). Forced to work long hours, she has no choice but to leave Oliver in the care of their new neighbor, Vincent (Bill Murray), a retired curmudgeon with a penchant for alcohol and gambling. An odd friendship soon blossoms between the improbable pair. Together with a pregnant stripper named Daka (Naomi Watts), Vincent brings Oliver along on all the stops that make up his daily routine – the race track, a strip club, and the local dive bar. Vincent helps Oliver grow to become a man, while Oliver begins to see in Vincent something that no one else is able to: a misunderstood man with a good heart.
Rated PG-13 for mature thematic material including sexual content, alcohol and tobacco use, and for language.
