It’s that time of year again that we’re all treated with the genius of Woody Allen. This time, he’s teamed up with Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm) to bring us the first New York comedy in years: Whatever Works.
Head over to the Apple website to check out the trailer for the film.
The trailer alone had me laughing hysterically.
Whatever Works looks to be in the same vein as Woody Allen’s under-appreciated Anything Else starring Jason Biggs, Christina Ricci and Danny DeVito. I think that movie would have been a lot more well-known and better received if it had a better cast, but it didn’t. Sure, it’s still hilarious and I would recommend it for die-hard Woody Allen fans, but it was certainly no Manhattan.
I think Whatever Works has addressed that issue and locked in a pretty solid cast. Aside from David, Evan Rachel Wood (who was fantastic in The Wrestler), Patricia Clarkson and Ed Begley, Jr. round out the cast.
It comes out on June 19th and be sure that I’ll be there, first in line, to see the latest installment of Woody Allen’s under-rated genius.
