Lucasfilm has released an official version of the trailer for The Phantom Menace on their Youtube page. Pirated versions had appeared all weekend, but they disappeared so fast and had a weird coloring issue we didn’t link to it.
It was attached to The Three Musketeers which pretty much no one got out to see because it looked (and by all accounts WAS) terrible. I wanted to catch it, but work dragged me down to the ground, but I’ve been assured by representatives for Lucasfilm that it will be appearing in a much wider pattern through the holiday movie season. I’m dying to see what this all looks like in 3D.
There is some good news on this trailer, too.
Notice at the end? “In Real 3D and select 2D theatres”? We’re getting this movie and, presumably, the rest of the Star Wars saga back in theatres in 2D as well. We can check it out in 3D once, and then race to a digital theatre to see it in all of its original (mostly) glory.
Thanks to that, I’ll be sure to see this movie A LOT more than I would have if it was just 3D.
