Brian Michael Bendis announced today at the New York Comic Con that the events of Ultimatum will be the end of Ultimate Spider-Man. Sort of.
This July Marvel will be launching Ultimate Comics, and much like Daredevil’s “relaunch” in 1998, Ultimate Spider-Man will be hitting it’s second volume after 133 issues. Bendis has stated that it will pick up several years after the events of Ultimatum and will be a new launch point for the series with a new artist, David Lafuente, who did the pencils in the most recent Ultimate Spider-Man Annual. It’s best to trust in Bendis to craft the best story possible for Ultimate Spider-Man, as he’s never let down his readership. However Lafuente filling Stuart Immonen’s shoes with his pusedo anime shitastic artwork doesn’t seem suitable for a book as good Ultimate Spider-Man. Give that talentless hack Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane.
Ugh, having that douche bag take over on the artwork is like Van Halen asking the drummer from Def Leppard to do lead guitar.
And just so you know what you’re in for. Ultimate Spidey is going from this to this…
