Welcome to the Sunday Funnies where today we have a treat for you. A comic which has been updating twice weekly since 2003 and is still going today. This one is called Wondermark and it comes to us from David Malki. This comic shows 19th century illustrations with Malki’s own wit in the words.
The interesting thing about this comic is that the images according to Malki are originally all from 19th century-era periodicals which he obtains from public libraries and his own collection of rare books.
On the site you can find as of March 1st 706 comics all with a rapier wit. There are also two print edition books with many of the comics available on the website. The website itself has a lot of fun things on it as well including caption contests and different fun findings he finds when looking for images. It really is a blast from the past today.
