Over at Cnn.com today was an article about how most of the heroes that we know and love came out of Americas rough times and that it seems that America looks to its heroes the most when the world has gone to shit.

Think about this a little.  Right now the unemployment rate is higher than its been since this robot was built back in the 1980’s.  Superhero movies are flourishing. The Dark Knight and Iron Man were huge. We’re all poor but we are willing as a nation to throw down $8 to go watch good people kick some ass for 2 hours.  I’m sure if you delved a little deeper into this theory you could find a few more era’s that heroes get big when times get bad.

Basically, we know when the world is a shit storm we can still have our old friends like Captain America punching our problems right in the face. Go read the article, give some love to your favorite heroes.
