Salt Lake area nerds will be pleased to learn that everyone’s favorite MythBuster, Grant Imahara will be kicking off the library’s annual summer reading event. On May 31st, he’ll be at the downtown library, signing books and taking pictures, as well as kicking off the library’s reading competition.
Every year, the library holds signups for a summer reading contest in various age categories (including adults!) and offer prizes. Imahari is well known to nerds around the world, not just for his appearances on “MythBusters,” but for his work on the “Star Wars” Prequels, “Galaxy Quest,” on “Jurassic Park: The Lost World,” among many others.
The Downtown Library is no stranger to us nerds, either. It’s the site of our comic book movie screenings (like “Batman: Mask of the Phantasm“) and my prose reading series (the next of which happens on April 24th.)
We’ll be there and we hope to see you there, too!
