Held in Essen, Germany, Spiel is the largest and most prestigious tabletop gaming convention in the world, and Comic Action is a part of the convention experience, bringing comic book publishers and artists to the show. I’m at Spiel ’13 mit Comic Action, currently being held this weekend, from October 24 to October 27, 2013 at the Messe Essen, and will be dropping in some interviews with people in the world of games and comics!
I had the opportunity to interview Steffen Volkmer, PR manager for Panini Comics in Germany. Panini has the license to publish German editions of many American comics, including stuff from DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, Bongo and more. Steffen fills me in on what Panini is up to at Spiel mit Comic Action 2013, and what is hot in the German comics market.
