Gail Simone to become new Batgirl writer!

Everyone’s favorite femmelosipher Gail Simone just announced from her Twitter account that she will be taking back over the scribing duties for Batgirl.  This after being unceremoniously dumped last month from her writing duties on the title, it appears DC brass have pulled their collective heads out of their collective refrigerators long enough to realize that firing Simone from Batgirl was the stupidest idea since Jack Kirby decided to trust Stan Lee to give him proper credit for all of their creations.

What’s even more puzzling in this about face was not just its speed and seemingly irrational trajectory, but the fact that the announcement was made late on a Friday afternoon right before what is, for most, a holiday weekend. Normally such “take out the trash day” events are confined to, say, a cult TV show firing its showrunner, like what happened with Dan Harmon and Community earlier this year or the announcement today about Walking Dead parting ways with Glen Mazzara.

But this is good, unexpected news! For all fans of Batgirl, they can all rest a little easier. So, all hail Gail Simone, the once and future Batgirl scribe!
