Kraft posted a new macaroni and cheese commercial on their YouTube account Monday.
Vanilla Ice maintains a positive attitude as a stock boy at a grocery store. He sings “Ninja Rap” which you’ll remember from 1991’s “TMNT 2: The Secret of the Ooze.” An older woman and a young boy, presumably her son approach, grabbing a box of TMNT mac and cheese and she joins him in song.
They share a nostalgia fueled moment together before the kid totally ice-blocks his Mom and throws the box of M&C in the cart.
Ice saw the opportunity for a new hit single (wink, wink) but this little jerk just wants his cheese in peace, traumatizing parental moments excluded.
This behind the scenes video gets a bit into the mind of Ice as he made the commercial. He appears to be a huge fan of the franchise and is genuinely excited to be involved with the TMNT again.
“I’ve always had a love for the Turtles and when I did ‘Secret of the Ooze’ it was the highlight of my life, ever. I mean, I’ll never top it, no matter what I do.” He even has a tattoo.
Now I really want some mac and cheese, stupid Kraft for exploiting my childhood memories to manipulate me. It’s totally working.
