Entertainment Weekly got the scoop on revealing the names of the principal players in the new “Star Wars” film. These are the names that will undoubtedly grow to iconic heights the same way Luke Skywalker, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Kanan Jarrus have.
And this is just our first taste from the film.
They made a whole bunch of Topps style cards (designed by Art Spiegelman originally, no less) and used them to reveal character names. Head to Entertainment Weekly to see all of them, but here are the names:
- The soccer ball droid is BB-8
- Oscar Issac is Poe Dameron
- John Boyega is Finn
- Daisy Ridley is Rey
- and the mysterious red lightsabered fellow is Kylo Ren.
That they withheld Finn and Rey’s last name could mean anything and it could mean nothing. But me? I love the sound of Finn Skywalker and Rey Solo.
Or maybe it’s the other way around?
I really just love that we don’t know ANYTHING about this movie. And December 18, 2015 can’t come a minute too soon.
