The Wrap is reporting some news straight from the mouth of JJ Abrams that is worthy of passing along.
According to the director of Episode VII, the script is complete and they are in deep pre-production. He also spent a moment to confirm the rumors swirling around Jesse Plemons and his potential part in Episode VII:

“He is one of the actors that we’ve talked to, yeah,” Abrams said. “But, you know. It’s not often that I read about actors that I’m going to be meeting … that I get to read articles about actors who are going to come in. And so I get to see someone and say, ‘Oh, I read that I’m going to see you.’ … It’s usually agents talking to people about what’s happening. It’s a lot of noise.”
And since this is straight from the horse’s mouth, it’s safe to say this is actually the case. This doesn’t mean Jesse Plemons is actually cast, but it means he certainly had meetings.
