TRAILER: ‘X-Men Days of Future Past’ Official Second Trailer

Behold, the most recent full-length trailer for Bryan Singer’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past”

For our theatrical version, Wolverine replaces Kitty Pryde as the time travelling savior who must unite past X-Men against a mutual future foe. Sound complicated? Well, sure, kinda, but you guys. Seriously. That trailer. The official formation of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Blink being awesome, BISHOP, Professor Xavierception, Mystique in combat, and was that a pre-activated X-gene Scott Summers I saw in there? OK maybe I just made it sound even more complicated…

What we did not see, however, was this unifying, insurmountable threat. We’re given hints at the future of Trask Industries and its impact on mutants but the trailer wisely does not show the origin of the bio-mechanical ninjas that hunt future heroes. This pleases me greatly, as so many trailers toss out important reveals to lure in viewers. Singer replaced the original hero with a more familiar face, and Wolverine is likely enough of a draw to get non-comics fans in theater seats without leaking a bunch of spoilers in the trailer. If you’re not familiar with the story, and curious enough to get a peek at the threat our heroes face, click on over to the beautiful and eerie Trask Industries website

I truly don’t know if I have ever been more excited for a film in all my days. The X-Men are the reason I am a nerd, beyond even the Star Wars universe, and based on the quality of Singer’s previous outings in the franchise, the events of this storyline, and all the mind-blowing media we’ve already seen, “X-Men Days of Future Past” is destined to be my pick for Most Fun at the Movie Theater Ever.
